Financial Reports
ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORTS
Below are the Annual Financial Reports of the Georgia Records Association, which illustrate the organization’s overall financial health.
Nomination & Election Process
The process for nominations and elections is outlined as follows:
- Nomination Form Distribution:
- Nomination forms are distributed to all members in good standing at least three months before the scheduled election.
- Members must be in active status by July 31st to be eligible to receive a nomination form.
- Nomination Submission:
- Nominations must be received at least two months before the scheduled election.
- The Election Committee compiles and submits the names of the nominees to the Board Secretary.
- Candidate Eligibility:
- Nominees are allowed to run for only one office.
- Candidates must be members in good standing.
- Candidates must submit a photo, biography, and a letter from their respective agency confirming compliance with by-laws within seven days of accepting the nomination.
- Failure to provide the required information leads to removal from the ballot.
- Current Board Membership:
- Candidates cannot be a current member of the Board unless their present term expires at the end of the current calendar year.
- Exceptions for those who volunteered and were appointed to fill an unexpected vacancy.
- Election Committee Authority:
- The Elections Committee has the authority from the Board to disclose the number of people running for office without revealing their names.
- Ballot Distribution:
- Ballots are distributed to Association members in good standing each fall.
- Dues must be paid by January 1st of each year to receive a nomination form and ballot.
- Ballot Return Deadline:
- The Election Committee sets a deadline for the return of ballots.
- Members of the Nominating Committee monitor and verify electronic ballots.
- Ballots received after the established deadline are considered null and void.
- Ballot Verification:
- The Election Committee verifies all received ballots.
- Election Outcome:
- The candidate with the highest number of votes for a particular office will be elected.
- In the case of a tie, the election outcome will be determined by a coin toss administered by the Election Committee Chairman.
- Announcement of New Board Members/Officers:
- New Board members/officers will be announced via e-mail.
- Term Start Date:
- New Board Members/Officers take office on January 1st.
